First off, welcome to the new website! We’ve got a lot of new stuff going on, so take some time to look around and explore a bit. Kudos to Mr. Chic Bain for his excellent work designing it.
Now, on to the next thing.
My new EP “Side One: See How Far I Get” was released yesterday on iTunes, Amazon, etc. and I could not be more excited! John Shelton Ivany, music reviewer for Top 21, has already called it “one of the best albums of the year.” You can purchase it HERE.
In the meantime, there are six (used to be five, but I just thought of another one) REALLY easy things you can do to help this EP be a huge success. None of these take more than 30 seconds to accomplish. I promise. They are:
1) TELL PEOPLE ABOUT IT
It seems so simple, but word of mouth is the way that most independent music starts to spread. Just say: “My friend Reed Turner just released a new EP and it’s really good! You guys should check it out.” Boom. Word of mouth.
2) SHARE LINKS TO THE ALBUM
Everybody’s on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. these days, and there’s really no better way to reach a ton of people with minimal effort. You can help me take advantage of these mediums by sharing the link to my new EP with all of your friends. If they share the link, and another friend shares the link, and another friend shares the link, pretty soon we’ll have shared it with 1,343,738 people!

3) COME TO/INVITE PEOPLE TO MY EP RELEASE PARTY – OCTOBER 13th
My EP Release Party will be October 13th, 8PM at the Saxon Pub in Austin, TX. The show will be sponsored by local radio station KUT, there will be press, booking agents, and a film crew there. In other words, this is going to be a very important show for me. It would mean so much to me if you came. I love performing and I want to do it as often as possible, for as many people as possible, for as long as I possibly can. 4) RATE/WRITE A REVIEW OF THE ALBUM ON iTUNES
This is so easy. On the iTunes page, just click however many stars you think the album deserves (5 and I’ll love you forever). If you’re feeling really helpful, write a review of the album. These things are so helpful!
5) “LIKE” ME ON FACEBOOK/FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER/
How will this help the EP you ask? Well believe it or not, people who book venues look at these kinds of things. The more people I have following me, the bigger venues I can book. 6) REQUEST THE ALBUM ON YOUR LOCAL RADIO STATION

Just call them up and say “Can you play a cut from Reed Turner’s ‘Side One: See How Far I Get’ EP?” If they ask for a song, pick your favorite. We have “See How Far I Get” scheduled as the first single, so that’s always a safe bet.
